ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

TODAY'S THOUGHT
Something that has always puzzled me all my life is why, when I am in special need of help, the good deed is usually done by somebody on whom I have no claim.
William Feather
TODAY’S ACTION
Rejoice in your family.
TODAY’S QUOTE
A house is not a home unless it contains food and fire for the mind as well as the body.
Benjamin Franklin
HAPPY MONDAY !!
BACK TO WORK !
Here I am again, sipping my early morning coffee and trying to wake up and start a new week once more. The good news is that it is another 4 day work week again. I’ve got another Friday off as this coming weekend will be another busy one.
Our tree out front of the house is really starting to loose it’s leaves now and lots more are changing colors. It’s dark out at 8 in the evening so I’m sure that bed time for me will start to be earlier and earlier too.
Sunday was a very quiet and restful day. Our weather was very warm and today will be too. After that we are supposed to have a big drop in temps and will be in the 50’s by Wednesday. That is really more like October weather here.
This coming Saturday I’ll be going to visit the campers for their Trick or Treat at the campground. Then Sunday I’ll be going to the the Apple Butter Festival that is by the Newlyweds.
Hopefully even though it turns cooler it’ll still be sunnyand we can enjoy being out doors. If it rains, my plans will probably change but we’ll just have to wait and see.
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY IS…WALL PAPER DAY
Since the Chinese invented papermaking, people think they also invented wallpaper. Wrong! Wallpaper was invented in France during the late 15th century. It was intended to be a cheap substitute for fancy woven tapestries, but it soon became very popular. When the paper mills started running across Europe, wallpaper could have stenciled, hand-painted or printed designs.

Wisdom from Grandpa
Trouble in marriage often starts when a man gets so busy earnin' his salt that he forgets his sugar.
Too many couples marry for better or for worse, but not for good.
When a man marries a woman, they become one, but the trouble starts when they try to decide which one.
If a man has enough "horse sense" to treat his wife like a thoroughbred, she will never be an old nag.
On anniversaries the wise husband always forgets the past... but never the present.
The bonds of matrimony are a good investment only when the interest is kept up.
ONE MORE…
Please do not complain about the coffee. You'll be old and weak someday, too!

TODAY’S REFLECTION
The first commandment is … you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, You shall love your neighbor as yourself. There is no other commandment greater than these.
Mark 12:29-31
Don't allow 'being yourself' to become an excuse for why you live contrary to the way that God would have you live. There are too many segments of our society that throw up their proverbial hands and say, "Well, there's nothing that I can do about my (questionable behavior). That's just the way I am."
We hear that we need to love the Lord our God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and our neighbor as ourselves. These two laws are often not easy to live by. Yet, if we are willing to allow God's Spirit into our lives so that our lives might be reformed and recreated on a daily basis, the person that we see when we look in the mirror will begin to reflect the expectations that God has placed before each one of us.
Be yourself, just make sure that the person you are working on becoming is the one that God would ultimately have you be.
Strive to be a better you!
