TODAY’S QUOTE

Our lives improve only when we take chances... and the first and most difficult risk we can take is to be honest with ourselves."

Walter Anderson

HAPPY SUNDAY !!

After a few cups of that good coffee I’ll be off to church as usual today. The weather man says it will be in the mid to upper 70’s. What a nice blessing for a Sunday! The sun will be shining too !

The rest of the week we’ll slowly be going down hill weather wise, but it is fall and in Northern Ohio that means cold weather is coming.

Our campers moved their campers to a different campground this weekend so I’m glad the weather was favorable for them. The new campground has more family oriented activities and that’s one of the reasons why they decided to move. It’s still in the area where they were. I’m hoping they send pictures out to see.

I will be having a campsite right along side them next Spring too. I’ve no camper yet, but I’ve got the sight reserved! That’s something to look forward too for sure!

My visit to the eye doctor went well and I’ll be getting new glasses later in the week. He did say that in about 10 years give or take, I’ll be a candidate for cataract surgery. Oh dear, another sign that I’m not as young as I used to be.

The report on the car was both bad and good, I need new struts in the rear of my car. The good part is it is not an emergency and the bad is it’s around $400.00

There are a few things on my calendar after work this week:

Tuesday evening we have the postponed dulcimer get together.

Wednesday I go to the dentist to finally get the remake of my partial And

Thursday after work I get a hair cut.

That’s the news from home as I know it.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

TODAY’S SMILE

Once there was an inquisitive nine-year-old girl intently listening to the Sunday Gospel from Matthew 5:13: "You are the light of the world.…your light must shine before others…"

The passage really caught her attention. The preacher talked in his sermon about the light driving out darkness; about letting our light shine before others so that we, too, can drive out the darkness and gloom around us.

The preacher then proposed this question, "And how will you be a light to the world?" The young girl’s imagination clicked into gear as she thought about being a light. Her thoughts rambled until she looked at the brightly colored patterns of light shining across the pews.

She leaned closer to her father and whispered, "Daddy, I want to be like a stained-glass window and let the light shine through me spreading pretty colors."

Jesus said, "In the same way, your light must shine before others so that they may see goodness in your acts and give praise to your heavenly father" (Mt. 5:16).

DO NOT CALL REGISTRY

Some of you may have forgotten that the registration is only good for five years, and if you signed up at the beginning, then the five year mark is heading your way. What does that mean? Theoretically, it means that if your five-year registration expires, marketers can be sure that your number can legally be called again.

What to do: The Federal Trade Commission, which oversees the list, has a simple fix: re-register. But that means millions of people have to remember to do so. It only takes about one minute to register or even re-register so don't forget.

TODAY’S WORD

jocund \JOCK-uhnd; JOH-kuhnd\, adjective:

Full of or expressing high-spirited merriment; light-hearted; mirthful.

Many a glad good morrow and jocund laugh from the young folk Made the bright air brighter. -- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

Jocund is from Old French jocond, from Latin jucundus, "pleasant, agreeable, delightful," from juvare, "to please, to delight."

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I pray that the Lord will guide you to be as loving as God and as patient as Christ.

II Thessalonians 3:5

Are you impatient? Perhaps it's time to slow down and look up to God. He can give you the strength and the wisdom you need in your situation.

When you are delayed at a stoplight, instead of being annoyed, take a moment or two to thank God that you have a car.

When the line is long at the supermarket, be thankful that you have food to eat.

When someone is slow in doing a task, think of a way to be helpful instead of critical. You will be more peaceful and life will be better

Be patient enough to live one day at a time as Jesus taught us, letting yesterday go and leaving tomorrow until it arrives.

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!
