ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

OCTOBER 10th, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Life is a journey, and love is what makes that journey worthwhile.

TODAY’S ACTION

Hold on to what is good

TODAY’S QUOTE

People change when they are given hope,

when someone believes in them and gives them a task to do.

Above all they change when they are loved.

They come out of their shells and

hidden energies are released in them.

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

OVER THE HUMP DAY

Tuesday we were in the low 70’s which was nice as the sun came out and there was a nice breeze blowing, but today it will be in the high 50’s. 3 days of rain are now supposed to come our way then the weekend will be nice and sunny, but we’ll only be in the high 50’s or low 60’s. Layers will be the way to dress for sure.

I’m slowly catching up at home and at work after being away 2 long weekends in a row, but this weekend I’ll be gone again so it doesn’t look very promising around here. I’m thinking that’s all right though, as I don’t expect any company until the holidays and that gives me plenty of time to get things ready.

I really want to enjoy being able to get out and do some things before the bad weather sets in and I hibernate for the winter.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…WILDLIFE DAY

Today we celebrate wildlife conservation. It's our responsibility to preserve wildlife and their habitats - even if it's in our own backyard. Buy some birdseed to help our feathered friends make it through the winter. And find out more about wildlife and the environment here:

TODAY’S SMILE

A little boy was having difficulty lifting a heavy stone. His father came along just then. Noting the boy’s failure, he asked, "Are you using all your strength?"

"Yes, I am," the little boy said impatiently.

"No, you are not," the father answered.

"I am right here just waiting, and you haven’t asked me to help you."

TODAY’S REFLECTION

They were fearful and terrified…but Jesus said, ‘Why are you troubled?…It is I myself!’

Luke 24:37-38

They had betrayed their Master. When Jesus needed them they had scampered. And now they were having to deal with the shame. Seeking forgiveness, but not knowing where to look for it, the disciples came back.

They gravitated to that same upper room that contained the sweet memories of broken bread and symbolic wine… They came back. Each with a scrapbook full of memories and a thin thread of hope. Each knowing that it is all over, but in his heart hoping that the impossible will happen once more.

“If I had just on more chance.”… And just when the gloom gets good and thick, just when their wishful thinking is falling victim to logic, just when someone says, “How I’d give my immortal soul to see him one more time,” a familiar face walks through the wall.

My, what an ending. Or, better said, what a beginning!
