ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

SEPTEMBER 25TH, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Nothing can be more useful to you than a determination not to be hurried.

Henry David Thoreau

TODAY’S ACTION

Enjoy each age of your life.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Every human being is intended to have a character of his own; to be what no other is, and to do what no other can do.

Channing Pollock

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

Fall is acting like Summer around here so far. It was in the mid 80’s yesterday and will be a little warmer yet today. Then we have some rain coming in Wednesday and Thursday which will make it much cooler.

Tonight is our dulcimer get together. Next month we start Christmas songs, but for now we’ll be sticking to our folksongs and hymns that we love so much. Of course there will be a few laughs too, we usually have lots of those.

DDIL#6 passed this e-mail address my way. It is for our troops in Iraq . Apparently many are not getting any mail from home, so they are collecting e-mail letters to the troops and are hoping for lots to pass out at Christmas time. They feel moral is down due to bad press and are trying to get a lot of positive responses for our men and women in Iraq. So if you would like to write and help boost their moral, please send a letter from home to: RCT-6lettersfromh@gcemnf-wiraq.usmc.mil

I know I’ll be sending more than one for sure.

I have a request for prayers for DDIL#6’s Great Grandmother too as she is not doing well and #6’s Grandmother and Aunt are traveling to see her. I’ll be praying for a safe journey for them too.

There have been lots and lots of prayer requests coming my way, many are suffering and burdened with problems every day. Please count your blessings as they come and help others less fortunate with your prayers. They do mean so very much.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…COMIC BOOK DAY

The first comic strip, The Yellow Kid, ran in Sunday newspapers on February 16, 1896. In March 1897, several comic strips were made into a Sunday Journal and and sold for 5 cents. From this humble beginning, comic books were born. During the next 30 years, people became loyal fans of characters such as Dick Tracy, Little Orphan Annie, Popeye, Mutt & Jeff, Buster Brown and Krazy Kat. They have lost some fans to tv, but are still popular today.

TODAY’S SMILE

A man was bitten by a dog. He went to the doctor to be checked out. The doctor said, "I have bad news for you. You've got rabbies."

At first, the man didn't say anything. Then, he smiled and began to write. The doctor figured he didn't hear him and repeated, "I have bad news.

The man kept smiling and said, "That's what I thought you said. I'm making a list of people I'm going to bite.

TODAY’S WORD

A remedy for all diseases, problems, or evils; a universal medicine; a cure-all

Technology had become a panacea for the great economic, social, and political challenges facing the nation as it embarked on the path of modernization.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.

Isaiah 40:28

Do you sometimes feel completely exhausted? Do the chores you have to perform leave you completely worn out? Our scripture today reminds us that we have a powerful God, who created the heavens and the earth and never grows weary.

Father , I trust you with my life and I shall try to make the most of each day that you give to me. Amen
