OCTOBER 1ST, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

No love, no friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever.

Francois Mauriac

TODAY’S ACTION

Never dwell on bitterness, anger and despair.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds you plant.

Robert Louis Stevenson

HAPPY MONDAY !!

BACK TO WORK !

Here is our weather forecast Monday (24 hours): Times of sun and clouds. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the low 50s. Except for maybe a few showers Monday and Thursday, It looks like we’ll be pretty much the same all week.

After work today I have another dental appointment which will be the final fitting for the replacement partial I’ll be getting. I had this appointment last Monday and forgot about it, so today I must remember.

On Thursday evening, our Church is starting a new Bible study that I’m going to try and attend . I’m looking forward to this work week as it will be another short one. I’m taking Friday off from work as I need to get my beagle settled in at the doggie hotel at the vet’s office and we’ll be leaving for the hotel we’re staying in for my nephew’s wedding about 2 o’clock or so.

It’s going to be a great week !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY’S SMILE

The story is told (I believe it to be a true one) of a young man who was working under the hood of his Model T Ford, trying in vain to make it run. After a long time, in which he had had no success, a fine automobile stopped beside him.

A well-dressed man stepped out, went over to the young man, and, sensing his difficulty, told the would-be mechanic to make a certain minor adjustment in the timing of the motor.

Rather reluctantly, the young man did so. "Now," said the man, "your car will run." With a turn of the crank the motor started running like that of a new car. Surprised that such a man should know about machinery, the young man said, "But how is it that you know just what to do to my car to make it run? Who are you?"

Quietly the other said, "I'm Henry Ford. I made the car.

TODAY’S WORD

precipice \PRES-uh-pis\, noun:

1. A very steep, perpendicular, or overhanging place; a cliff. 2. The brink of a hazardous situation.

Barbara got as close to the edge as she dared and looked down over the precipice.

Precipice comes from Latin praecipitium, "a precipice," from praeceps, praecipit-, "with head before, headlong, steep," from prae, "before" + caput, "the head."

TODAY’S REFLECTION

But your assistant, Joshua son of Nun, will ente [the Promised Land. Encourage him, because he will lead Israel to inherit it.

Deuteronomy 1:38

Young Joshua needed encouragement, for he had a huge responsibility being placed upon him. Although God was pleased with what Joshua had done so far, he was really asking Moses to affirm the kind of man Joshua was.

This kind of encouragement spurred Joshua on to do the monumental task assigned to him. It doesn't matter how important we are or how unimportant, each of us appreciates someone else's belief and confidence in us.

You never know when you will have an opportunity to encourage those who have never reached their potential by giving them that vote of approval called "affirmation." Knowing that someone they respect believes in them can give them the edge needed to spur them on to greater accomplishments.
