HAPPY THURSDAY !!

Rain Rain go away …

We had some good downpours yesterday and are supposed to get a few more today. But many in our country are still in draught conditions. One of my friends on line said that in Kentucky even the weeds are dying due to lack of rain, it is so bad there. I do pray they get some needed rain soon.

Our Newlyweds are now officially homeowners and I wish them nothing but happiness in their new home. They won’t be moving til the end of next month sometime and will now be busy packing.

Today is the last day of this work week ! Hurray ! I really hate to waste a vacation day by catching up at home, but it is badly needed here, so that’s what I’ll be doing tomorrow. Of course I might just have to make a little run out somewhere, just to give myself a break too ! We’ll see…

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

My friend’s great granddaughter that we have been praying for is in the hospital again. She was having breathing problems and had to have a tracheotomy. Since she is so young, she has all the potential in the world to grow and when she grows everything internally grows along with her meaning that her airway will get bigger enabling her to breathe normally. Please continue to pray for this little one, she’ll be in the hospital for about 3 more weeks.. Her parents are so very grateful for all the prayers .

I’m praying too for one of my own little grand ‘babes’, that has been having a lot of sinus problems. May our dear Lord bless her with healing and a return of her appetite. Her Mom and Dad say that when she cannot smell her food, she will not eat it.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…ANSWERING MACHINE DAY

The answering machine was patented in 1950. According to a marketing research company, over 2/3 of American homes now have answering machines. Since this is their day, don't be surprised if you hear this message...

"After working 24/7, I am taking the day off. I have made a deal with the refrigerator to take your calls and stick your messages on its side with one of those little magnets. Be back tomorrow. Love, Your Answering Machine"

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is Ancestor Appreciation Day. Hey, without them, we wouldn't be here.

Today is National Chocolate Milk Day

1943: Bing Crosby and the Andrews Sisters recorded "Jingle Bells" for Decca Records

TODAY’S SMILE

While doing research for a doctoral thesis, a young man spent a year with a group of Navajo Indians on a reservation in the Southwest. He lived with one family, sleeping in their hut, eating their food, working with them, and generally living their life.

The grandmother of the family spoke no English, yet a very close friendship formed between the grandmother and the doctoral student. They seemed to share the common language of love and they intuitively understood each other.

Over the months he learned a few phrases of Navajo, and she picked up words and phrases in English. When it was time for the young man to return to the university and write his thesis, the tribe held a going-away celebration for him.

It was marked by sadness since he had developed a close relationship with all those in the village. As he prepared to get into his pickup truck and drive away, the old grandmother came to tell him goodbye. With tears streaming from her eyes, she placed her hands on either side of his face, looked directly into his eyes, and said,

"I like me best when I'm with you."

TODAY’S WORD

factotum \fak-TOH-tuhm\, noun:

TODAY’S REFLECTION

As you come to him, the living Stone — rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him — you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.

I Peter 2:4—5

Michelangelo took a slab of marble and carved it into the masterpiece La Pieta. Today's scripture teaches that when we give our lives to Christ, God is daily building us into the people he created us to be. We are tested by rough times, but he will always be there to help us. We do our part by not allowing doubt, fear, worry, jealousy, and hate to conquer our spirits.
