ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Some lives, like evening primroses, blossom most beautifully in the evening of life.

Charles E. Cowman

TODAY’S ACTION

Form a picture in your mind of health, prosperity and abundance.

TODAY’S QUOTE

The person born with a talent they are meant to use will find their greatest happiness in using it.

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe

HAPPY TUESDAY !! AND HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO DS#1 AND HIS WIFE!

May the dear Lord Bless you both today and always !

I finally got caught up on my work yesterday and now will be back on my regular routine at work. It’s good to have cleared away the piles once more.

It is much cooler here, but yesterday the humidity was still so high it really didn’t feel like it was only 75 degrees. Today will be even cooler they say.

I haven’t managed to clear away the piles here at home however, still lots to do in that direction. Soon it will be time to make the switch to flannels once more and I’m not sure if I’m ready for that one for sure.

I do have a good assortment of flannels though—flannel sheets, flannel shirts, flannel pj’s and even a flannel lined coat.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TODAY IS…TWEETY BIRD DAY

Tweety debuted in "A Tale of Two Kitties" in 1942 - and first said his famous line, "I tawt I taw a puddy tat." He was in two more cartoons before he was teamed with Sylvester in "Tweetie Pie" (1947). That cartoon won an Oscar for Warner Bros., and a winning combination of characters was born. In 1952, the pair got their own comic book, and in 1998, they were on a U.S. postage stamp

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is Patriot Day, marking the terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington, D.C., on September 11, 2001. Americans are now prouder, more committed to stand together; united from Maine to Hawaii, from Alaska to Florida, determined not to let any country, religion, or people steal our freedoms. Americans will fight all evil-doers for the inalienable right to live in our democracy. The battle cry of the United States against terrorists: “Let’s roll!” (Todd Beamer’s last words as heard by an Airfone operator minutes before Flight 93 crashed.)

Today is also the beginning of Emergency Preparedness Week.

Today is No News Is Good News Day

Today is National Hot Cross Buns Day

1847 - Stephen Foster performed his Oh! Susanna for the very first time. The performance, for a crowd at the Eagle Saloon in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, earned Foster a bottle of whiskey

1954: California’s 19-year-old Lee Ann Meriwether was crowned Miss America in the first televised pageant. John Daly hosted the show on ABC. Lee Ann became a regular on "The Clear Horizon," "The Time Tunnel," "The New Andy Griffith Show," "Barnaby Jones," "The New Masquerade Party," "The New Munsters," and "All My Children."

1974: "Little House on the Prairie" premiered on NBC-TV, starring Michael Landon, Karen Grassle, Melissa Gilbert, Melissa Sue Anderson, and twins Lindsay and Sidney Greenbush.

TODAY’S SMILE

We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren't old enough and we'll be more content when they are.

After that, we're frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our spouse gets his or her act together, when we get a nicer car, are we able to go on a nice vacation, or when we retire.

The truth is, there's no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when? Your life will always be filled with challenges. It's best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway. Happiness is the way. So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time with...and remember that time waits for no one.

So, stop waiting . . . . . . until your car or home is paid off

. . . until you get a new car or home

. . . until your kids leave the house

. . . until you go back to school

 . . . until you finish school

. . . until you lose 10 lbs

. . . . until you gain 10 lbs

. . . . until you get married

. . . until you get a divorce

 . . . until you have kids . . .

until you retire . . .

until summer

 . . . until spring

. . . until winter

. . . until fall

 . . . until you die

There is no better time than right now to be happy. Happiness is a journey, not a destination. So, work like you don't need money, Love like you've never been hurt, And dance like no one's watching.

TODAY’S WORD

cozen \KUZ-un\, transitive verb:

1. To cheat; to defraud; to deceive, usually by petty tricks.

2. To obtain by deceit.

intransitive verb: 1. To act deceitfully. Cozen perhaps derives from Early Modern French cousiner, "to defraud; literally to treat as if a cousin (hence to claim to be a cousin in order to defraud)," from Old French cosin.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Charm can be deceiving, and beauty fades away, but a woman who honors the Lord deserves to be praised.

Proverbs 31:30

If you read Proverbs 31:10—31, you will see a passage written in praise of a good wife. She is described as being faithful in caring for her husband and children. See also deals in business and succeeds in that. And most important, she loves the Lord.

When a family has a wife and mother who is always faithful to God and to them, that family thrives.
