ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

SEPTEMBER 6TH, 2OO7

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The language of friendship is not words but meanings.

Henry David Thoreau

TODAY’S ACTION

Pray for someone that you don't know

TODAY’S QUOTE

Your mind will give you knowledge. Your heart will tell you what to do with it.

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

It was another hot sticky day here in Northern Ohio yesterday. Summer isn’t over yet for sure. I don’t know how all our teachers and students are faring in this heat. Most of our local schools do not have air conditioned class rooms. They are still saying it will cool down this weekend …we’ll see.

I’ve been asked for prayers for DDIL#6’s aunt. She is going through tests for medical problems right now and really needs our prayers. May the dear Lord bless her with healing and guide the doctors caring for her.

Take good care all !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways thatI will serve others in Your name

The Hula-Hoop craze lasted a bit longer...

1975 - Glen Campbell hit #1 on the Billboard pop music chart with Rhinestone Cowboy

TODAY’S SMILE

A very interesting story is that of a man who wished to visit a friend living in a far away country.

The man was very poor - too poor in fact to be able to afford any form of transport for even part of the way. He decided to make the journey on foot. It took him many weeks to traverse the deserts, climb the mountains, and ford the rivers.

Eventually, footsore and weary, he arrived at the home of his friend who greeted him with enthusiasm and amazement. "How did you manage to make such a long journey?" the friend asked.

The man's answer was simple.

"I started," he said.

Do you have something to do that seems impossible?

TODAY’S WORD

1. One who collects, studies, or deals in objects or relics from the past. adjective: 1. Of or pertaining to antiquarians or objects or relics from the past. 2. Dealing in or concerned with old or rare books.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important then clothes?

Matthew 6:25

The medical profession estimates that a third of all office visits are because of worry. One in four Americans will sometime suffer from an anxiety disorder — they worry about work, health, personal relationships, or money, to name a few. If you are a worrier, you may be asking, "How can I stop worrying?"

Norman Vincent Peale wrote:

1. "The secret of life isn't what happens to you, but what you do with what happens to you."

2. "You can make your life what you want it to be through belief in God and in yourself

It's a choice. You can believe God's promise to help you solve what's worrying you or you can do nothing except feel sorry for yourself and worry. Your confidence in God and in yourself gives you the motivation. And when your positive attitude causes you to believe that with God's help you can do it, nothing can stop you. http://www.dailyguideposts.com
