ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

APRIL 5th, 2006

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Big jobs usually go to the men who prove their ability to outgrow small ones.

Ralph Waldo Emerson

TODAY'S ACTION

Remember that remarkable achievements begin as thoughts

TODAY'S QUOTE

Direction is more important than speed. We are so busy looking at our speedometers that we forget the milestone

HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

OVER THE HUMP DAY !

After work yesterday I got my hair cut and permed. Once again I have a curly head of hair. The perm seems to help tame the unruly gray hair. Tonight is my prayer group at the Wellspring. As always, I’ll be praying for all of you !

Friday I have a vacation day and will be getting ready for our family Easter celebration on Saturday. It seems like a very fast week!

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...BELL BOTTOMS DAY

Maybe a big fashion trend, but sailors discovered them first - because they were so practical. Bell bottom pants were easy to roll up and keep dry when swabbing the deck on the ships. They were also fast and easy to pull off if you fell overboard and needed to swim. Who would have guessed these pants would become such a craze in the 60's and be the hot item for men, women and kids

TODAY'S SMILE

Wednesday April 5, 2006 is a Special Day

On Wednesday, at two minutes and three seconds after 1:00 am in the morning, the time and date will be

 01:02:03 04/05/06

Of course, this is for countries that put the month before the day in their dates. For those that format their dates as day/month/year, you have to wait till May 4th. This won't happen for another 100 years.

Isn't that special

Now here’s the joke for today…

Teddy came thundering down the stairs, much to his father's annoyance. "Teddy," he called, "how many more times do I have I to tell you to come downstairs quietly? Now, go back upstairs and come down like a civilized human being."

There was a silence, and Teddy reappeared in the front room. "That's better," said his father. "Now in the future you will always come downstairs like that."

"OK," said Teddy. I slid down the railing

TODAY'S WORD

 in·ef·fa·ble adjective

1. Incapable of being expressed; indescribable or unutterable. Synonym at unspeakable.

 2. Not to be uttered; taboo

TODAY'S REFLECTION

All those who see Me ridicule Me; they shoot out the lip, they shake their head, saying, 'He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; let Him deliver Him since He delights in Him!'

Psalm 22:7

It is sad to see how people who are one day cheering for you can later be jeering at you. Jesus went through the worst of ridicule and torture. He understands whatever agony we may suffer.

If you give up, when others make fun of you or criticize you, your life will go downhill. But if you trust in the Lord, knowing that he understands and supports you, you can conquer the problem and be a winner instead of a loser.

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

Talent is born in silence, but character is born in the struggles of life

77 DAYS UNTIL SUMMER

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

 Psalm 37:4

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
