HAPPY SATURDAY

We worked in the kitchen until about 10 last night. We got some trim painted and holes filled in . Tomorrow we’ll finish up in no time.

The beagles are loving it…they’ve been moved to the living room and out of the kitchen. They claimed the couch right away and snuggled in for the night. I’ve been keeping them in the kitchen because I hate cleaning up all the dog hair.

Oh well , after tomorrow they’ll be back in the kitchen. But it will be a beautiful kitchen !

I hope this e-mail comes out all right…right now there all kinds of funny looking characters on my page that aren’t usually there. It said Microsoft word is now doing my e-mail editing???

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS QUILT LOVERS DAY

Quilting is sewing two layers of fabric together with filling in the middle. It originated in ancient times when people wore quilted garments for warmth and protection. Written records of bed quilts date back to the 12th century, and a quilt survives from the 1400's in England. The first quilts in the U.S. were appliqued by early colonists, but it was the patchwork quilt that became the most popular form of quilting in America.

Love is a quilt--a quilt is love . . .

Both love and a quilt should be:

Soft enough to comfort you,

Bright enough to cheer you,

Generous enough to enfold you,

Light enough to let you move freely,

Strong enough to withstand adversity,

Durable enough to last a lifetime,

And given gladly, from the heart.

TODAY’S SMILE

Little Johnny wanted to go to the zoo and pestered his parents for days. Finally his mother talked his reluctant father into taking him. "So how was it?" his mother asked when they returned home.

"Great," Little Johnny replied.

"Did you and your father have a good time?" asked his mother.

"Yeah, Daddy really liked it," exclaimed Little Johnny excitedly, "especially when one of the animals came home at30 to 1!"

TODAY’S REFLECTION

But who am I, and who are my people, that we should be able to give as generously as this? Everything comes from you, and we have given you only what comes from your hand.

I Chronicles 29:14

David is praying and has just thanked God for all the blessings he has showered on David and his nation. Today's scripture is the question David asks of God.

We might well ask the same question, for if we consider our lives and all that we have, we realize these are all God's gifts to us.
