The Lord lifts up the downtrodden.
Psalm 147:6
HAPPY SUNDAY!
I'm off to church and then home again to get my house in some kind of order and ready for another work week. As we worked in the kitchen all day yesterday, no laundry or cleaning got done .
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior
I’ll be praying for all of you and yours today !
God Bless You!
Have a great day! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY IS...GARLIC BREATH DAY
Garlic was worshipped by the ancient Egyptians, chewed by Greek Olympian atheletes and thought to drive vampires away. It's also good for keeping your heart healthy and warding off colds. With all of these benefits, who's going to worry about a little bad breath!
TODAY'S TRIVIA
Saint George Feast Day.
Crusaders from the 1300s told the story of Saint George. George used his magic sword to kill a dragon ... just in the nick of time to save the king’s daughter from being sacrificed to the fire-breathing beast. As the story goes, this dragon had an insatiable appetite and it was only through his deep faith that George was able to accomplish this deed.
George was named Patron Saint of England in 1350 A.D. For many years, English soldiers wore the red cross of St. George on a white background as a badge; and it remains a part of the British Union flag.

1789: President-elect Washington and his wife moved into the first executive mansion, the Franklin House, in New York
1900 - The word, hillbilly, was first used in print in an article in the New York Journal. It was spelled a little differently, as the story said that a Hill-Billie was a “free and untrampled white citizen of Alabama who lived in the hills.”
1985 - The Coca-Cola Company of Atlanta, GA, made a showy, glitzy announcement that it was changing its 99-year-old secret formula. New Coke was called “the most significant soft drink development” in the company’s history. Yeah, well, so much for history. Fans of the original Coke were instrumental in bringing Classic Coke back.
TODAY'S SMILE
A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover.
The little boy watched in amazement and then asked, What's the matter -- haven't you ever seen a little boy before?
SMILE! It only takes 13 muscles; a frown takes 64!

TODAY'S REFLECTION
I am not telling you this because I need anything. I have learned to be satisfied with the things I have and with everything that happens. I know how to live when I am poor, and I know how to live when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of being happy at any time in everything that happens, when I have enough to eat and when I go hungry, when I have more than I need and when I do not have enough. I can do all things through Christ, because he gives me strength.
Philippians 4:11-13
Contentment is really a choice. ... choosing to to believe God is in control and has us, in all our circumstances, exactly where we should be to learn what He wants us to learn.
