HAPPY FRIDAY!

The beagles and I are off on our road trip this morning ! The day promises to be a little cooler and rainy. I have had my good morning coffee and am ready to go…

The cats and the bird are being left behind, but they are very self sufficient as long as I leave plenty of food and water for them.

Hopefully it won’t rain all weekend.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY IS...FORTUNE COOKIE DAY

Fortune cookies, like chop suey, are a U.S. invention. They come from Los Angeles where a baker named David Jung started making cookies with thin slips of paper inside sometime around 1920. Jung founded the Hong Kong Noodle Company, which produced more than 3,000 cookies an hour during the 1920s

TODAY'S SMILE

Oh, no!" he gasped as he surveyed the disaster before him. Never in his 40 years of life had he seen such devastation. How anyone could have survived, he did not know.

He could only hope that somewhere amid the overwhelming destruction he would find his 16-year-old son. Only the slim hope of finding Junior kept him from turning and fleeing the scene. He took a deep breath and proceeded.

Walking was virtually impossible with so many things strewn across his path. He moved ahead slowly. "Junior! Junior!" he whispered to himself to keep himself steady. He tripped and almost fell several times.

He heard someone, or something, move. At least he thought he did. Perhaps, he was just hoping he did. He shook his head and felt his gut tighten. He couldn't understand how this could have happened.

There was some light but not enough to see very much. Something cold and wet brushed against his hand. He jerked it away. In desperation, he took another step then cried out, "Junior!"

From a nearby pile of unidentified material, he heard his son. "Yes, Dad," he said, in a voice so weak it could hardly be heard. "It's time to get up and get ready for school," the man sighed. And for heaven's sake, clean up your room!

TODAY'S REFLECTION

It was now about the sixth hour, and darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour, for the sun stopped shining.

Luke 23:44

This was a dark day and a very frightening time. People had rebelled against God's only Son Our Lord. God gave them a choice and they brought on darkness by their choice

He leads us in the light of His love and wisdom, so that our life may glorify Him!

TODAY'S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER'S ALMANAC

When frogs are jumping about more than usual, expect a storm. But when they are piping in the evening, the next day will be fair
