JUNE 2ND, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

 Anne Frank

TODAY’S ACTION

Waste not fresh tears, over old griefs

TODAY’S QUOTE

A good upbringing means not that you won't spill sauce on the tablecloth, but that you won't notice it when someone else does.

Anton Pavlovich Chekhov

HAPPY MONDAY !!

I spent another restful weekend and am so thankful for it. This will be a long 5 day work week and I’ll need all the strength I gained from it.

On the calendar for after work this week is: Bible Study on Thursday and also Our Pumpkin’s 2nd birthday is on Thursday. Other than that it looks like some quiet evenings at home, which I might say are needed. Maybe I’ll give some attention to my poor neglected house.

Back to work once more !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU!

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

Saint Theresa's Prayer

May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be confident knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.

TODAY IS…PLAY TENNIS DAY

And just why is the tennis ball fuzzy?

The only reason is to slow them down. It helps the players rally longer by increasing the wind resistance and keeping the ball from flying off the court in one bounce. The fuzz also increases racket control by holding the ball against the strings for just a fraction of a second longer. Smooth balls might equal faster serves, but they would make the game harder to play and less fun to watch

A mother was asked by a neighbor,

“Do you do any literary work?”

 “Oh, yes,” replied the mother,

 “I’m writing two books.”

 “What are their titles?”

 asked the surprised neighbor.

Replied the mother, “John and Mary.

My business is to write on the mind and heart

of my children the lessons they will never forget.”

TODAY’S REFLECTION

In the book of Psalms, the Bible says: Delight yourself in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart Psalms 37:4

It's easy to focus on the second part of that verse and miss the whole message. It's saying that when we realize that our greatest desire should be God, when we make Him our greatest delight, then all of the other things that we've been longing for will be taken care of.

Some will be granted to us, others will no longer seem desirable. But only if we take care of that one need that every man has -- the need for a relationship with God. Lasting happiness, the kind that reaches to the very core of our being, is found only in God. It's so easy to get caught up in tomorrow.

We worry about what it will bring, or we are excited to see it come. But today is what we have; today is what we are given. As you spend time in quiet thought and meditation, make this an exercise of living in the now. And then carry this attitude with you as you live this day.

Day by day, day by day,

O, dear Lord, three things I pray:

To see thee more clearly

Love thee more dearly

 Follow thee more nearly

 Day by day.
