Proverb

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR PUMPKIN

WHO IS 2 TODAY

May the dear Lord bless you today and always !

Thankfully we had a nice 75 degree day on Wednesday, Today we are supposed to be close to 90 degrees and that will be hot. We’ll just have to wait and see how long it will take to get the new funace/air conditioner unit in place at work.

If it rains I suppose they’ll not work as the unit is on top the building. I do not do well in a hot stuffy room, so if I fall asleep today at the computer, they’ll just have to wake me up I guess.

Bible Study was cancelled for this evening as our Pastor is enjoying a little R & R today. That means I’ll have an extra evening to get something done around the house. No R & R for me until the weekend.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…BARBERSHOP QUARTET DAY

Four guys wearing straw hats, harmonizing "Sweet Adeline" or "Down by the Old Mill Stream." Well, it isn't an American invention. It all started in England during Shakespeare's time when the barbershops were also popular male hangouts. The guys sang along to a lute while waiting their turn for a hair-cut. This idea was picked up in the late 1800s in the American old West. They sang to a banjo instead of a lute, but the harmony was still sweet.

TODAY’S TRIVIA

 Today is National Gingerbread Day.

Today is World Environment Day, sponsored by the UN

1977: The Apple II computer, with 4K of memory, went on sale for $1,298. The Apple I had been sold primarily to electronic hobbyists since 1976.

TODAY’S SMILE

Ever get to the end of "one of those weeks" and feel like this?

Missing a few dots from your dominoes.

Half a bubble off plumb.

The cheese has slid off your cracker.

If I had another brain, it would be lonely.

No grain in the silo.

Bailer done run out of twine.

Slinky's kinked.

Porch light on, nobody home.

A lap behind the field.

A prime candidate for natural deselection.

Gates are down, the lights are flashing, but the train isn't coming.

TODAY’S WORD

lachrymose \LAK-ruh-mohs\, adjective:

1. Generating or shedding tears; given to shedding tears; suffused with tears; tearful.

2. Causing or tending to cause tears

Lachrymose is from Latin lacrimosus, from lacrima

TODAY’S REFLECTION

One of the scribes came near and heard them disputing with one another.

Mark 12:28

Seeing that Jesus answered them so well, he asked Jesus, ‘Which commandment is the first of all?’ We imagine the scene: Jesus, and a gathering of people, some willing to listen, others ‘disputing with one another’ and most likely with Jesus also.

Jesus answers the scribe in the words from Deuteronomy, ’Love the Lord your God with all your heart’, and from Leviticus, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself’. Jesus reminds the scribe and us that there is a profound oneness about the two commandments.

Lord, help us to choose to love our neighbors because you love them and to love them in whatever ways are possible for us. Then we know we are loving you.
