ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

APRIL 2ND, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

You can become blind by seeing each day as a similar one. Each day is a different one, each day brings a miracle of its own. It's just a matter of paying attention to this miracle.

Paulo Coelho

TODAY’S ACTION

Concentrate on now and your dreams will become your future

TODAY’S QUOTE

I got a fortune cookie that said, "To remember is to understand." I have never forgotten it. A good judge remembers what it was like to be a lawyer. A good editor remembers being a writer. A good parent remembers what it was like to be a child.

Anna Quindlen

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

One of my readers sent an e-mail yesterday that said:

LET'S PROCLAIM APRIL A "DO SOMETHING GOOD MONTH" I really think that is a great idea!

Doing something good always makes us feel good too! As the days go along maybe we can all think about that and see what happens. I know there is a lot of good things I can do especially since nicer weather will be coming our way soon.

‘Doing Good is the greatest happiness’

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

God Bless You !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…CAROB BEAN DAY

Rumor has it that chocolate can restore the soul - or at least make you feel good. But, what about carob? Is it the "health food" chocolate of the world? When it comes to calories, sugar content and nutrition, there is very little difference. But, carob tastes sweeter than chocolate before they are processed. When you use carob in a recipe instead of chocolate, you can add less sugar

TODAY’S SMILE

One laugh burns 6 calories . . . Laughing is jogging for your insides . . . Laughing heartily 100 times a day has the same benefit as 10 minutes on a rowing machine . . . If you want to know someone, just watch her laugh . . . Laughter is to life what shock absorbers are to a car...It doesn't take the potholes out of the road , but it sure makes the ride easier.

IRISH TECHNOLOGY

After having dug to a depth of 10 meters last year, Scottish scientists found traces of copper wire dating back 100 years and came to the conclusion that their ancestors already had a telephone network more than 100 years ago.

Not to be outdone by the Scots, in the weeks that followed, English scientists dug to a depth of 20 meters, and shortly after, headlines in the English newspapers read: "English archaeologists have found traces of 200 year old copper wire and have concluded that their ancestors already had an advanced high-tech communications network a hundred years earlier than the Scots."

One week later, "The Kerryman," a southwest Irish newsletter, reported the following: "After digging as deep as 30 meters in peat bog near Tralee, self-taught archaeologist Paddy O'Droll reported that he found absolutely nothing. Paddy has therefore concluded that 300 years ago Ireland had already gone wireless

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit; while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.

John 15:1-2

In today's scripture, Jesus is reminding us that perhaps God allows things to happen in order to "prune" us, so that we will be less foolish and our lives will be more fruitful. When you are confronted with a crisis in your life, don't you pray for God's help?

Could God be reminding you that you have been too busy lately to do much praying? If you have a rose garden, you know how much care is required to bring forth lovely blooms. That’s the way God cares for his children and though the pruning may be painful, he will guide you through every difficult step.

Paul the apostle wrote, "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer" (Romans 12:12). http://www.ourprayer.org
