HAPPY MONDAY !!
Today is our Dino Boy’s 8th Birthday !
May the dear Lord bless you today and always.
The weather this week looks a little bit like SPRING ! That is a good thing for sure! Along with the sunshine we’ll have some rain, but those flowers are finally starting to grown around here! I had a good weekend and it was spent mostly outside. I just couldn’t say no to the sunshine !
It’s been so long since we had warmth and sun that I didn’t want to do house work, so I did yard work. From the time I got home on Sunday after church until the shade hit the patio in the back of the house about 6:00 I was out side.
I managed to get out the patio furniture and give it a bath and part of that will now become my deck furniture at the campsite.
Today will be my practice week to see what I can get done at home after work as I got nothing done inside at all on the weekend. This is the way it will be when we are camping so it’ll be good to see just how much I can get done.
Usually after work I do little of nothing as I’m pretty tired out when I get home. We’ll see…
Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !
TODAY’S PRAYERS
Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.
25 WORDS
God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name
TO REMEMBER…
I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.
TODAY IS…HAM RADIO DAY
Amateur radio is a community of people that use radio transmitters and receivers to talk to each other. They are called ham radio operators or just "hams." (The origin of this nickname is lost, so nobody knows why.) But, it's more than just a high-tech hobby. Normal means of communication are often lost during floods, hurricanes or earthquakes. TODAY’S REFLECTION
When they drew near to the village to which they were going, he made as if to go on; but they pressed him to stay with them. 'It is nearly evening' they said 'and the day is almost over.' So he went in to stay with them. Now while he was with them at table, he took the bread and said the blessing; then he broke it and handed it to them. And their eyes were opened and they recognised him; but he had vanished from their sight. Then they said to each other, 'Did not our hearts burn within us as he talked to us on the road and explained the scriptures to us?'
Luke 24:20-24
The story of the disciples on the road to Emmaus is one of the most famous of the Resurrection stories. It's a story that touches all our stories. We can relate to their sadness, to their sense of gloom and how their heads were down.
Life as we know has its struggles and we've all been there
Central to the story of the two disciples on their journey to Emmaus is how they found God in their pain and sadness. We sometimes expect to find God only in happy and joyful times.
The disciples had in a sense lost everything. They had lost faith and they had thrown the towel in. But that was the turning point. Jesus touched their sadness. He walked with them in their pain. They talked about their heart burning.
This was the moment they knew they were loved by God. The Resurrection is always a turning point. We are never on our own even during those difficult and impossible days
