ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

APRIL 21ST, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others.

Vincent Van Gogh

TODAY’S ACTION

Boost someone’s spirit, and you will raise yours as well.

TODAY’S QUOTE

At the end of the day, you want to respect what you do. In a certain sense, our work is us. We get into it, and it gets into us.

John W. Rowe

HAPPY MONDAY !!

It was a grand 3 day weekend and there are pictures on my journal page ‘Good Morning Sunshine’ if you want to take a look. I’m sipping the hot coffee and trying to wake up, but it is very hard this morning.

I was up way too late trying to do things at home last night. I will certainly pay for my long weekend today as I go back to work and try to catch up there too. Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for

the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER… I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…JELLY BEAN DAY Jelly candies (sugar and flavored water) have been putting smiles on the faces of kids for centuries - starting with the Romans. When penny candy was popular during the 1800's, gumdrops and jelly beans were the biggest sellers - and nothing replaced them in popularity until people fell in love with the chocolate bar. Blueberry jelly beans were invented so President Reagan could serve red, white and blue jelly beans at his inaugural ball

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is Big Word Day, a day to use huge words on purpose just to impress yourself. Go on, you can do it

Today marks the 112th running of the Boston Marathon. They expect 20,000 runners, a half million on-lookers

Today is National Chocolate Covered Cashews Day

A man named Friedrich Froebel actually invented kindergarten. Little Freddie was born on this day in 1782 in Germany. He grew up to become a teacher, author and toy maker.

1783: Reginald Heber was born in England. He published his first hymn at age 28. His greatest hit: Holy, Holy, Holy

TODAY’S SMILE

A good piece of chocolate has about 200 calories. As I enjoy 2 servings per night, and a few more on weekends. I consume 3,500 calories of chocolate in a week, which equals one pound of weight per week. Therefore... In the last 3 1/2 years, I have had chocolate caloric intake of about 180 pounds, and I only weigh 165 pounds, so without chocolate, I would have wasted away to nothing about 3 months ago! I owe my life to chocolate.

TODAY’S WORD

 objurgate \OB-juhr-gayt\, transitive verb:

To express strong disapproval of; to criticize severely

Objurgate comes from the past participle of Latin from objurgare, "to scold, to blame," from ob-, "against" + jurgare, "to dispute, to quarrel, to sue at law," from jus, jur-, "law" + -igare (from agere, "to lead"

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.

Hebrews 11:1

Faith isn’t a skill that has to be learned. Faith is simply living each day as if you know that God is faithful in keeping his promises. When you act as if you have faith, you do everything with enthusiasm. If you are able to act with faith and enthusiasm during the good times, then you acquire the ability to act with faith and enthusiasm when facing the bad times. The bad times get worse when approached with doubt and fear. You'll be amazed at how much easier it is to triumph over problems with a hopeful, enthusiastic attitude.

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
