ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

MARCH 11TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

Miracles are of all sizes. And if you start believing in little miracles, you can work up to the bigger ones.

Norman Vincent Peale

TODAY’S ACTION

Face every situation with faith in your heart

TODAY’S QUOTE

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as if everything is.

Albert Einstein

HAPPY TUESDAY !!

Top of the Mornin’ to ya!

I know it’s not St. Patrick’s Day yet, but I have such a mix of graphics to use for this month…Spring, Easter and St. Patrick’s Day that I thought I might as well use them.

There are lots of mixed ideas of when the St. Patrick’s holiday is going to be celebrated this year. I think I read that the US Bishops suggested Friday the 14th instead of Monday which is the beginning of Holy Week. Some said they were going to have parades and such on Sunday, but that is Palm Sunday so that’s not such a good idea. Some will still celebrate the day on Monday as always…on the 17th.

So here we have it a little bit of wearin’ of the Green for you today. I’ll probably be putting some more ‘green’ in my newsletter though Saturday.

Monday wasn’t so bad at all. I got to work just fine. The roads were clear and so was the parking lot at work. The weather warmed up to the mid 30’s so a wee bit of that white stuff melted and the sun popped out a few times too !

On the calendar for this week is Bible Study on Thursday evening and Stations of the Cross at church on Friday evening. Then come Saturday we’ll be having our Family Easter Feast. On the actual Sunday of Easter I’ll be at DS#1’s house as DDIL#1 will be joining our church at the Easter Vigil Service. Otherwise, except for work, it looks to be a quiet week.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

 GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…APPLE LOVERS DAY

Today is Apple Appreciation Day, honoring the memory of Johnny "Appleseed" Chapman, who planted apple trees everywhere he went and was regarded by native Americans a great medicine man.

The popular image of Johnny Appleseed had him spreading apple seeds Randomly everywhere he went. In fact, he planted nurseries rather than orchards, built fences around the to protect them from livestock, left the nurseries in the care of a neighbor who sold trees on shares, and retuned every year or two to tend the nursery. Many of these nurseries were located in the Mohican area of North-Central Ohio. This area included the towns of Mansfield, Ohio; Lucas, Ohio; Perrysville, Ohio; and Loudonville, Ohio.

TODAY’S SMILE

Belly Buttons Explained

Q: How do babies get their belly buttons?

A: When God finishes making little babies, He lines them all up in a row. Then he walks along in front of them. He pokes each one in the tummy with His finger and says, “You’re done, you’re done, you’re done.”

TODAY’S WORD

 inchoate \in-KOH-it\, adjective:

1. In an initial or early stage; just begun.

2. Imperfectly formed or formulated.

Inchoate comes from the past participle of Latin inchoare, alteration of incohare, to begin

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw

Proverbs 24:32

. . .we often dwell on the past and allow doubt and low self-esteem to fill our hearts, so that we cannot solve our problems. With such a pessimistic attitude, we become convinced that we are in a hopeless position

When we go to Jesus in prayer and then take the time to learn from him, our minds become filled with hope and we can go forward with clear thinking.

Today's scripture tells us: "I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw.". . .let the Lord be your coach and he'll help you to look back, learn from your mistakes and "improve your game."
