ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

MARCH 13TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

When you get up in the morning, you have two choices – either to be happy or to be unhappy. Just choose to be happy.

Dr. Norman Vincent Peale

TODAY’S ACTION

Today find something to laugh about, even if it is just at your own foibles.

TODAY’S QUOTE

Never let your memories be greater than your dreams.

Doug Ivester

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

I had a nice surprise on Wednesday evening. My youngest sister came by with a birthday gift and my next door sister came over too so we got to spend a couple of hours together. We don’t get too many times when the 3 of us can do that.

Our snow is slowly melting. I can actually see that it has gone down about a foot now by the back patio. We still have about 3 feet left. The sunshine and warmth of the past two days really helped. Today we may see some showers. I hope not too much as flooding will become a problem.

Take good care all !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

ONE MORE…

Every Saturday morning Grandpa Walt found himself babysitting his three grandchildren.. .all boys. The kids always wanted to play ''war'' and Grandpa somehow always got coaxed into the game.

His daughter came to pick up the kids early one Saturday and witnessed Grandpa take a fake shot as Jason pointed a toy gun and yelled, Bang!'' Grandpa slumped to the floor and stayed there motionless. The daughter rushed over to see if he was alright. Grandpa opened one eye and whispered, ''Sh-h-h, I always do this. It's the only chance I get to rest.''

TODAY’S REFLECTION

I am God and not a human; I am the Holy One, and I am among you.

Hosea 11:9

Do you believe God is near? He wants you to. He wants you to know he is in the midst of your world. Wherever you are as you read these words, he is present. In your car. On the plane. In your office, your bedroom, your den. He’s near He has involved himself in the carpools, heartbreaks, and funeral homes of our day. He is as near to us on Monday as on Sunday. In the schoolroom as in the sanctuary. At the coffee break as much as the communion table
