ON THE BRIGHT SIDE

MARCH 20TH, 2008

TODAY'S THOUGHT

It is in the shelter of each other that the people live. Irish Proverb

TODAY’S ACTION

Always look to the good you can do in every situation

TODAY’S QUOTE

Spring is when you feel like whistling even with a shoe full of slush.

Doug Larson

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

HAPPY SPRING

It’s not April yet so the snow we got can’t be an April Fools joke, but even though the calendar says it is the first day of Spring, it still looks like the middle of winter here.

Wednesday started out with rain and then changed to snow. Before it was dark out the streets and everything were covered with snow again. At least our old snow piles now have a nice white coating. They were beginning to look pretty dingy.

I hope it won’t be a slippery ride to work this morning.

Take good care all !

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protectthem as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…IT’S SPRING DAY !

It's the vernal equinox - the time of year that symbolizes the change to spring. With the sun positioned right over the equator, the day and night are about equal in length around the world. (Equinox means "equal night".) From now until September, there will be longer and warmer days in the Northern Hemisphere, so.... Spring has sprung!

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Spring began at 1:48 a.m. EDT in the Northern Hemisphere; autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Day and night are equal

Today is National Agriculture Day

National Bubble Week begins today, a great time to have fun outdoors with children and bubbles.

1891 - The first computing scale company was incorporated in Dayton, OH. Look around antique stores and you may find some of the old -- and possibly still working -- Dayton Scales. There were other famous scales, too, that were direct from Ohio, ‘the birthplace of weights and measures’. Remember Toledo Scales for weighing fruit and produce in grocery stores?

1961: Ricky Nelson recorded "Hello Mary Lou

1967 - Fashion model, Twiggy, arrived in the United States for a one-week stay. She quickly became the most sought-after subject of photographers due to her terrifically skinny-yet-wholesome good looks and the shortest dresses ever seen (to that time)

TODAY’S SMILE

You can't see Canada across Lake Erie, but you know it's there. It's the same with spring. You have to have faith, especially in Cleveland.

Paul Fleischman

TODAY’S WORD

transmute \trans-MYOOT; tranz-\, transitive verb:

1. To change from one nature, form, substance, or state into another; to transform.

intransitive verb: 1. To undergo transmutation.

Transmute is from Latin transmutare, "to change utterly," from trans-, "across" + mutare, to change.

TODAY’S REFLECTION

When Jesus had cried out again in a loud voice, he gave up his spirit. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom.

Matthew 27:50-51

It’s as if the hands of heaven had been gripping the veil, waiting for this moment. Keep in mind the size of the curtain—sixty feet tall and thirty feet wide. One instant it was whole; the next it was ripped in two from top to bottom. No delay. No hesitation.

What did the torn curtain mean? For the Jews it meant no more barrier between them and the Holy of Holies. No more priests to go between them and God. No more animal sacrifices to atone for their sins.

And for us? What did the torn curtain signify for us? We are welcome to enter into God’s presence—any day, any time. God has removed the barrier that separates us from him. The barrier of sin? Down. He has removed the curtain

TODAY’S ADVICE FROM THE OLD FARMER’S ALMANAC

In honor of spring, we offer some folklore tips on how to attract and keep the attentions of your beloved. Eat tomatoes, potatoes, hot spices, oysters, and octopus. Or, put marigolds in your wedding bouquet. Keep in mind, however, that romance can be hazardous. New World settlers banned public acts of affection. When a sea captain returned to Boston after three years at sea, he kissed his wife in public and was sent to the stocks for “lewd and unseemly behavior

IT IS SPRING !

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your Heart

Psalm 37:4

May there be a miracle in YOUR life today and may you have the EYES to SEE it!

I Love You All !!!

Be Blessed !!!
