TODAY’S QUOTE

When it comes to change, there are three seasons of timing: People change when they hurt enough that they have to, when they learn enough that they want to, and when they receive enough that they are able to.

John Maxwell

HAPPY WEDNESDAY !!

OVER THE HUMP DAY!

It is half way through the week today and also halfway through summer. It does seem impossible. Time always seems to fly by when summer comes. I would like it if winter would choose to do the same.

We got very little in the way of rain Tuesday so I did water the flower beds. They were looking rather dusty for sure. On the news they said we usually only get 5 good rains in August. Well that will be fine as long as it doesn’t rain on the weekend when I’m camping. We’ll see….

Until 2 weeks ago it had rained every weekend since April. That was way too much for sure.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…HALF OF SUMMER DAY

On this day, at 5:10pm Eastern Daylight Time, exactly 1/2 of summer remains. There is exactly 47 days, 7 hours, and 6 minutes before and after that time, of summer. The last day of summer is the Autumnal Equinox on September 23rd

1787: The Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia began to debate the articles contained in a draft of the United States Constitution

TODAY’S SMILE

A grocer put up a sign that read "Eggplants, 25¢ ea.--three for a dollar." All day long, customers came in exclaiming: "Don't be ridiculous! I should get four for a dollar!" Meekly the grocer capitulated and packaged four eggplants.

The tailor next door had been watching these antics and finally asked the grocer, "Aren't you going to fix the mistake on your sign?" "What mistake?" the grocer asked. "Before I put up that sign no one ever bought more than one eggplant

ONE MORE…

Abraham was reading an article out loud to his wife. "Did you know that women use about 30,000 words a day, whereas men only use 15,000 words?"

Sadie replies, "The reason has to be because a woman has to say everything twice."

Abraham turns to Sadie and asks, "What?"

TODAY’S WORD

vituperate \vy-TOO-puh-rate, -TYOO-, vi-\, verb:

To find fault with; to scold; to overwhelm with wordy abuse; to censure severely or abusively; to rate

Vituperate comes from Latin vitupero, vituperare, to scold, blame, censure

TODAY’S REFLECTION

We heard this ourselves when we were with him.

2 Peter 1: 16-10

Peter is reaffirming the experience he and James and John had on the mountain. He was overwhelmed by what he saw and heard. The Father’s words were the same Jesus’ friends had heard at his baptism, as Jesus began his public ministry.

Peter wants us all to hear those words, to increase our faith in Jesus, to understand a little better that our God is all-powerful, all-loving, all-forgiving to each of us.

Daniel’s prophetic writing (Daniel 7: 9-10, 13-14) shows how difficult it is to express in words the munificence that is God’s. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
