! Our birthday boy had his party at home on Saturday so I’ll probably have some pictures to share with you all soon.

It is back to work this morning and I’m up and sipping that good coffee once more. I’m thankful for another day and have great hopes for it and all the days to come.

The weather man says we should have a sunny week with temps in the mid 70’s to low 80’s . That sounds pretty good for sure.

Tuesday I have a dental appointment after work, this is one of 3 more to get my new remake of the partial. Then in the evening will be joining my dulcimer buddies for some fun and a little music to bless our hearts with.

This coming weekend will be our town’s Apple Festival. I think a few of my babes will be coming in for that. There is not a whole lot to see there, but there is plenty of food to eat. So I’ll be hoping our good weather continues.

My camping babes checked in and they had a delightful but cool weekend.  The campfire was extra big so keeping warm was no problem for them.  Of course the campers have a furnace in them.  They camp in style for sure.

HAPPY THURSDAY !!

Brrrrchill ! It did get cooler yesterday. I tried sitting out a bit last evening, but was too chilly to stay there for very long. Today we are supposed to be up in the Mid 70’s which is just about perfect weather.

I’ve been working more overtime hours and of course I’m always grateful for the extra pay, but those long 10 hour days just wear me to a frazzle. I’ll be hoping today is a regular 8 hour day for sure.

An Arabian chief left 17 camels to his 3 sons. The eldest was to get half, the middle son a third and the youngest one ninth. Try as they might they were unable to divide the camels. They went to one of the village elders for help.

She thought for a moment and came up with an imaginative solution. She knew you couldn't divide in half an odd number of camels. She offered as a gift her own camel and that when they were all divided she could have what was left over.

They agreed. So they divided the 18 camels. The eldest son got 9. The middle who was to get one third, got 6 and the youngest who was to get one ninth got 2. Now 9+6+2=17 the same number that they were given in the first place.

When they had all finished laughing at how simple it all was, they returned the extra camel to the village elder and went off home.

It is easy to get completely immersed in a problem and become blind to other possibilities. We may see no option when in fact with the help of others there may be many options open to us

 She feels that she lives peacefully because:

I finally got caught up on my work yesterday and now will be back on my regular routine at work. It’s good to have cleared away the piles once more.

It is much cooler here, but yesterday the humidity was still so high it really didn’t feel like it was only 75 degrees. Today will be even cooler they say.

I haven’t managed to clear away the piles here at home however, still lots to do in that direction. Soon it will be time to make the switch to flannels once more and I’m not sure if I’m ready for that one for sure.

I do have a good assortment of flannels though—flannel sheets, flannel shirts, flannel pj’s and even a flannel lined coat.

It was another hot sticky day here in Northern Ohio yesterday. Summer isn’t over yet for sure. I don’t know how all our teachers and students are faring in this heat. Most of our local schools do not have air conditioned class rooms. They are still saying it will cool down this weekend …we’ll see.

I’ve been asked for prayers for DDIL#6’s aunt. She is going through tests for medical problems right now and really needs our prayers. May the dear Lord bless her with healing and guide the doctors caring for her.

Back to Work!

I’m not sure if going back to work is a vacation or if the 4 days off was work… It all had to be done, and I didn’t get finished, but I sure made a good effort. What didn’t get done will now have to wait.

I’m going to put some pictures of the bathroom in my Good Morning Sunshine journal so you can see what what I did get finished.

Today work will be hectic and I know the bosses have piled the desk high in my absence. Come evening I’ll be ready to soak in the tub and enjoy my BEACH Room.

HAPPY MONDAY !!

It is Labor Day in the USA and I’m back to my labors for sure. The painting will be done today and hopefully my bathroom sink and vanity will be installed also. Obviously we can’t both work in that little room at the same time so I’m hoping I get done before they get here. I will still have the trim on the mirror and little minor stuff, but the wood paneling will be done. The fun part will be adding all the accessories that will then go in there. I’ve got a bathmat, towels, shower curtain and a rug so far. More is coming in the mail and should be here the early part of the week. I can hardly wait to show you all the pictures.

Yesterday was totally relaxing and enjoyable. The weather couldn’t have been more perfect and of course the food was all just great. I’m so thankful I had the day away. I’ll have pictures in the GOOD MORNING SUNSHINE JOURAL if you want to take a look.

Today is Labor Day in the U.S. and Canada Always the first Monday in September, Labor Day was the idea of Peter J. Maguire, a labor union leader who in 1882 proposed a celebration honoring the American worker. Were you a kid in the Fifties or so ? Everybody makes fun of our childhood! Comedians joke. Grandkids snicker. Twenty-something's shudder and say "Eeeew!" But was our childhood really all that bad? Judge for yourself:

 In 1953 The US population was less than 150 million... Yet you knew more people then, and knew them better... And that was good.

The average annual salary was under $3,000... Yet our parents could put some of it away for a rainy day and still live a decent life... And that was good.

A loaf of bread cost about 15 cents... But it was safe for a five-year-old to skate to the store and buy one... And that was good.

Prime-Time meant I Love Lucy, Ozzie and Harriet, Gunsmoke and Lassie... So nobody ever heard of ratings or filters... And that was good.

We didn't have air-conditioning... So the windows stayed up and half a dozen mothers ran outside when you fell off your bike... And that was good.

Most of us have prayed for something in particular at least once in our lives. For many of us, much more than once. We pray for the health of a loved one, a job or promotion that we have been working toward, strangers who have endured tragedies. Sometimes we pray for peace of mind, or forgiveness for our weaknesses.

Whatever the prayer, we are most certainly changed when those prayers are answered. Be it the answer we are expecting, or the answer that God's wisdom has chosen for us, it matters not; we are changed people When we take time out to talk often with the Father, we are also reminded that we are the Almighty's children, and that as His children we are expected to behave in a certain way.

We simply do not get to be the boss, and considering the sinfulness of our nature, isn't that a good thing to be reminded of? Make praying an integral part of your daily life. Like a chat with a friend, share your life with God. We see things so much clearer when we share them.

What you will find with this type of conversation is that it will lead you to an awareness that will enrich your life in awesome ways. God is the best friend you will ever have, and the benefits of a closer relationship with Him are so great. You will find more peace, you will love deeper, and you will be a better, and yes, changed, person.

 I often wonder how I can possibly have a son over 30, It seems like just yesterday he was small enough to hold in my arms. I actually have 6 babes now over 30 .Only the baby of the family is younger and not by much.

Time flies by so fast! I can only say if you still have children at home, enjoy them. Before you know it they are grown up and gone.

Our fair weather continues today and later on this evening a cool front is supposed to be coming in. So we’ll go down in the 70’s for a couple of days. I don’t mind that at all !

TODAY IS…LEMON JUICE DAY

Lemons originated in Southeast Asia and spread westward to India and the Mediterranean. Columbus brought the first seeds to the New World in 1493. Nobody knows when they got to the US, but lemons were growing in Florida in 1579. Of all the citrus fruits, lemons are the most detoxifying.

LEMON VELVET CAKE

1 lemon cake mix 1 cup water

1/2 teaspoon. lemon extract

1 (3 oz) box lemon jello

3/4 cup corn oil

3 eggs

2 cups powdered sugar

1/2 cup lemon juice

grated rind of 1 lemon

1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the cake mix, water, lemon extract, jello, oil and eggs for at least 3 minutes. 2. Bake the cake in a 9 x 13 pan according to the package directions. When the cake is done, remove from the oven. Take a fork and prick the entire top of the cake. Make the holes about 1 inch apart and as deep as you can go without tearing the cake. 3. Mix the powdered sugar, lemon juice and grated rind in a medium bowl. Pour this mixture over the top of the cake while it's still warm.

Loneliness is a feeling of being cut off, disconnected from, and alienated towards, other people." Oddly enough, one can feel loneliness in a large city, surrounded by crowds of people.

It is totally different from being alone, for sometimes you are alone by choice, and it can be pleasant. Loneliness is when you are alone and unwilling to be so.

It is important that we learn to cope with periods of being alone. Today's scripture gives us a good answer. It reminds us that no relationship on earth is secure

David probably wrote Psalm 27, from which we read today's scripture. David was feeling alone and deserted by everyone, but he began the Psalm "The Lord is my light and my salvation —— whom shall I fear?"

He ended the Psalm by saying three things.

1. Wait for the Lord. The Lord will always be with you.
