After all the preparation and work, another holiday is gone ALL too fast. It always takes longer to get ready for a celebration than the celebration its self. We all enjoyed a lot of good food, some games, and catching up on what's new with every one. Our 'sunshine'babes called this afternoon too, they were waiting for 'Gamma'to come their way - they just took the storm shutters down from when Wilma went through.

 Today after church the Newly Weds will be loading up the Christmas decorations they had stored in my attic and taking them home. Then the last of of my family will be gone until almost one month from now when we celebrate Christmas.

 I'm so thankful for all the blessings we have received this year. Our 'Star' said  it all when he said I'm thankful for my family!

 It's Peanut Butter Fudge Day or You Got Chocolate On My Peanut Butter! Try this yummy version of Peanut Butter Fudge and... PIG OUT

1lb creamy peanut butter

1 lb powdered sugar

 3 Tablespoons milk

 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 lb (2 sticks) margarine or butter

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

In microwave melt peanut butter, margarine, and milk (stirring once or twice). Add vanilla. Fold in sugar until stiff enough to knead. Press in slightly greased square brownie pan. Melt chocolate in microwave and pour evenly over fudge. Let cool at room temperature. Cut in desired size pieces and serve. Fudge need not be refrigerated after cutting

Today is Family Thankgsgiving Feast Day I've got the house ready for the 'babes' and will do my stuffing, deviled eggs, and sweet potato casserole this morning, then around 11 I'll put the TURKEY in the oven.

Dinner is not til 5 so I've plenty of time, but I want to be able to visit with everyone, so the plan is to get it all done and cooking or ready to cook by noon. Then we'll be having a light lunch to tide us over til dinner.

The camera is all charged up and ready to take lots of pictures.

 Brrrrrrrrrrrr What else can I say! We are freezing here. There is a snow warning east of us, but we may get some on the ground too. The weather man was showing temps in the teens. Much too cold too fast.

Last weekend when I had my oil change etc. they said I needed a new battery too, so yesterday I stopped on my way home from work and got one. I figured there was no sense in taking any chances. Not with this cold snap!

 HAPPY THANKFULLY THURSDAY !

Today I am really thankful that my furnace works and that my car heater works and that I have a good warm coat and gloves. We took a big dip in temps and it’s been very windy. And yes, I did see snow flakes for the first time on Wedneday!

I also got my flu shot on Wednesday. My darling 83 year old mum had called to remind me of the last flu shot clinic in our area, so at lunch time I went and got my shot.

Over the hump day ! I'm ready for the weekend to get here. This Saturday is just the beginning of a busy month ahead. The countdown is on ! Weekend after this I start decorating and getting the cards ready to send out. Thankfully, I don't do baking anymore. My babes generously bring Christmas goodies to share at our Christmas Feast and that's enough for me ! Any more than that would just go to waste.

It rained all day yesterday, and by evening today we have that chance of s n o w again.

Tonight is the prayer group at the Well Spring. I think after this session is over, I'm going to wait til Spring to continue. I just don't want to go out in the dark and cold evenings anymore. I'd hibernate all winter, if not for having to go to work.

Tonight is my dulcimer night, it’s always a time to have fun and enjoy being with 2 of my friends. Tomorrow our weather is supposed to go down hill. The news said we may actually have ‘S---’ on the ground. Maybe that’s in some other part of OHIO - not here !

From now on we’ll just say a big ‘THANK YOU LORD’ whenever we do get a nice day…there will not very many more until next April or May.

I got some very good news in an e-mail this morning…DDIL#3 wrote to say they’ll be adding to my list of grandchildren come June! That will make 11 for me and the 3rd babe for them!

Why We Forward Jokes

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years.

He wondered where the road was leading them. After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight. When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?" "This is Heaven, sir," the man answered. "Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked. "Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The man gestured, and the gate began to open. "Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked. "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog. After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book. "Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?" "Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in." "How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog. "There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree. "What do you call this place?" the traveler asked. "This is Heaven," he answered. "Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."

"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell." "Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?" "No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."

 Soooo... Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word. Maybe this will explain. When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do? You forward jokes. When you have nothing to say, but still want to keep contact, you forward jokes. When you have something to say, but don't know what, and don't know how, you forward jokes. Also to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get? A forwarded joke.

So, next timeif you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile.
