TODAY’S QUOTE

I even have a secret ingredient that I'll share with you. One that you can't get off the shelf. When a loved one praises my meal, my answer is always, "Ahh, it's my secret ingredient... LOVE”

Louis Parrish

HAPPY MONDAY !!

BACK TO WORK !

Going back to work this morning is not so bad as I had my full quota of R&R this past weekend. I really do feel refreshed, renewed and relaxed after the nice weekend at the camper. Of course, I also got to church on Sunday morning which always gives me what I need to make it through another week. With the good Lord’s help, it’ll be a great week ahead.

We’ll be saying good bye to September and welcoming in October this week. It is so hard to believe another month has passed by so quickly. We keep loosing hours of daylight and the night is growing longer and longer as each day passes. I am being reminded to appreciate the sun while it is shinning as soon we’ll be making our own sunshine the best we can.

November and December aren’t bad months but come January I’ll be counting down the days til camping season comes again. The 3 months of winter that seem the longest are January February and March. This will be the time that I get whatis needed done in doors at home as after April comes, I’ll be back to the campground every weekend.

There is nothing much on my calendar after work this week except for the fact that Friday is a vacation day and I’ll be heading to the camper once more after work on Thursday.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

TODAY’S PRAYERS

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands.

Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior. GOD BLESS YOU !

25 WORDS

God, I thank You for today, for the ways You will bless me, and for the ways that I will serve others in Your name

TO REMEMBER…

I am in the hands of God, and in God’s time all things will be made well.

TODAY IS…ANSWERING MACHING DAY

According to a marketing research company, over 2/3 of American homes now have answering machines. Since this is their day, don't be surprised if you hear this message... "After working 24/7, I am taking the day off. I have made a deal with the refrigerator to take your calls and stick your messages on its side with one of those little magnets. Be back tomorrow. Love, Your Answering Machine"

TODAY’S TRIVIA

Today is Make a List of the Top Ten Happiest Days in Your Life Day. Jot down details (while you can still remember). Do it, it'll be fun

Today is Gene Autry Day, marking his birth in Tioga, Texas, on this date in 1907. He made 94 feature films, 91 TV shows, and 635 recordings. He wrote "Riders in the Sky," "The Last Roundup," and "Back in the Saddle Again." His biggest hit was "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."

Today is Quick Draw Day, always on the birthday of Quick Draw McGraw, the cartoon horse who got elected sheriff in 1959. His deputy, a Mexican burro named Baba Looey, was much smarter than Quick Draw, but never let the sheriff know it

1950: Bell Laboratories introduced the first telephone answering machine

1960 - My Three Sons was welcomed into U.S. homes on ABC-TV. Fred MacMurray, who was a movie actor, had a difficult time making the adjustment to the small screen. But adjust he did, and My Three Sons endured so well that CBS bought the successful hit for somewhere between seven and ten million dollars in 1965

1963: The TV comedy "My Favorite Martian" premiered on CBS

1996 - The Nintendo 64 video game system known as the first ‘true’ 64-bit system, hit North American shelves. That first day, Nintendo sold 500,000 systems, with the Mario64 game selling the same with it. Needless to say, Nintendo’s system was a big success

TODAY’S SMILE

Cheerfulness is the best promoter of health and is as friendly to the mind as to the body.

Joseph Addison

BLACK AND WHITE

You could hardly see for all the snow,

Spread the rabbit ears as far as they go

Pull a chair up to the TV set,

"Good night David, Good night Chet"

Dependin' on the channel you tuned

You got Rob and Laura or Ward and June

It felt so good, felt so right

Life looked better in black and white

I Love Lucy,

The Real McCoys

Dennis the Menace, the Cleaver boys Rawhide,

Gunsmoke, Wagon Train Superman,

Lois Lane Father Knows Best, Patty Duke Rin

Tin Tin and Lassie too Donna Reed on Thursday night

Life looked better in black and white

I wanna go back to black and white

Everything always turned out right

Simple people, simple lives

Good guys always won the fights

Now nothin's the way it seems

In living color or on the screen

I wanna go back to black and white

In God they trusted, in bed they slept

A promise made was a promise kept

They never cussed or broke their vows

They'd never make the network now

But if I could I'd rather be, in a TV town in 63

It felt so good, felt so right

Life looked better in black and white

CHORUS

I'd trade all the channels on the satellite,

If I could just turn back the clock tonight

To when everybody knew wrong from right,

life was better in black and white.

DOGS

Dogs lick you because they love you.

Cats lick you because you had chicken for dinner

The reason a dog has so many friends

is that he wags his tail instead of his tongue.

2. A plume or bunch of feathers, esp. such a bunch worn on the helmet; any military plume, or ornamental group of feathers

TODAY’S REFLECTION

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and said of him, “Here is a true child of Israel. There is no duplicity in him.” Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, I saw you under the fig tree.” Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Do you believe because I told you that I saw you under the fig tree? You will see greater things than this.” And he said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man

John 1: 47-51

Dear Lord, the mind boggles and one feels so small and insignificant and frightened of joining you in heaven where the angels are ascending and descending and millions mill about worshipping you. Will we get lost in the crowd? But we know that we are not insignificant.

We know because we believe that you love each of us personally and individually. After all, you did not become an angel but a fully human being, born in the ordinary human way and brought up and taught by loving and sensible parents. Thank you, Lord. With your help we will struggle on to be fully human, loving and compassionate, just like you.
