Yesterday we started the day off with a mixture of Snow and rain/Sleet and I found out that my front steps were coated with ice when I got home from work.

HAPPY MONDAY

Back to work again !

After church yesterday I proceeded to play catch up around this old house and by the time the day was over, I could not have made it up one more flight of stairs. Even though I didn’t get out for a walk, I think I got plenty of exercise.

Each day this week I plan to a little something so that by the time Friday rolls around my house will all be in order. Friday evening I’ll be leaving for my long 4 day weekend trip to visit the ‘Sunshine Babes.

I’ll get to spend Saturday evening, Sunday, Monday and Tuesday morning there , then fly home so I’ll be back to work on Wednesday for Payroll Day.

I’m riding down with DS#1 and his family. They will be on vacation there for a whole week. This trip is part of my birthday gift from all of them.

Meanwhile I do have a full week of work ahead.

The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long you try to hold it. If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm. If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.

As with the glass of water, you have to put it down for a while and rest before holding it again. When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden. So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down. Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.

Whatever burdens you're carrying now, let them down for a moment if you can. Relax; pick them up later after you've rested.

A man had a fig tree, planted in his vineyard, and he went to look for fruit on it, but did not find any.

Jesus told how a man waited three years for his fig tree to produce fruit, but none appeared, so he wanted to cut down the tree. The caretaker asked him to give it one more year before cutting it down.

Jesus' story taught that even though people may give up on us, God will always give us a second chance. Jesus also taught that the best way to live is to be productive. It is said that we use only a small percentage of our brainpower.

God gave us great potential, but it is up to us to be productive. God loves you and wants you to develop your full potential.

 More Snow and wind for us. Spring certainly didn’t come early here. As you may have noticed there is only 3 more days til Spring officially arrives and guess what…we still have Winter !

I’m off to spend the day with my Dad and hopefully it won’t be much longer that I can go back to just a Saturday evening visit with him. He seems to be improving each week.

It’s not that I don’t want to spend the time with him, it’s just that I hope he gets better.

I’m hoping the longer daylight hours and sunshine will do me some good too ! I think winter just wears me out.

A Few Irish Jokes

Some time ago there happened to be an Irishman looking for work. He was not qualified to do anything much so he couldn't be choosy. He went to see a guy how ran a big business painting the lines on the roads of England. T

he man hired the Irishman and asked him to start the very next day. The next morning the Irishman arrived on time and was very enthusiastic. The owner of the business handed Irish a brush and pot of paint.

That day the Irishman, keen to impress, had over a mile of the road painted. The foreman was indeed delighted with his new employee. The next day the Irishman arrived and worked all day but was only able to complete a half mile.

Nothing was said, but it didn't go unnoticed. The next day came and unfortunately the Irishman didn't even get 100 yards completed. The boss was very annoyed about this dramatic loss of performance and called the Irishman into the site office.

The boss was not pleased and questioned why the Irishman was taking so long to do short distances when he began so well.... "Ah that's easy" Irish replied "The paint tin is getting further and further away from me while I work !"

Obituary

Shamus opened the morning newspaper and was dumbfounded to read in the obituary column that he had died. He quickly phoned his best friend Mick.

 "Did you see the paper?" asked Shamus. "They say I died!!"

"Yes, I saw it!" replied Mick. "Where are you callin' from?"

HAPPY FINALLY FRIDAY DAY

We’ve had strange weather this week. Right now we are back to winter and more snow is headed our way today.

It turns out that DD was in the middle of that tornado we had yesterday. She was in her evening class and didn’t even know what was going on until the lights went out.. It passed right over the building she was in. Thank the good Lord.

I think this weekend will be a quiet one. Saturday at my Dad’s and Sunday at church then home for ‘catch up’ day.

Then Jesus says that if we ask God for help with a problem, he will give us the strength and courage to get through that problem. Jesus ended his lesson with today's scripture.

God's answer may not be what we think we need, but the Holy Spirit will give us guidance to tackle the difficulty

It’s so hard to believe it is the middle of March and for the second day in a row, I could leave the coat off and enjoy the blessing of warm and sunshine.

We had some rain yesterday morning and then by noon it cleared up and was beautiful for the rest of the day.

Today we go back to colder weather with a chance of Snow on Saturday. We had some strong thunderstorms last night bringing in a cold front and we’ll be lucky to be above 40 today.

My three year-old was on my heels no matter where I went. Whenever I stopped to do something and turned back around, I would trip over him.

I patiently suggested fun activities to keep him occupied. But he simply smiled an innocent smile and said, 'Oh that's all right, Mommy. I'd rather be in here with you.'

Then he continued to bounce happily along behind me. After stepping on his toes for the fifth time, I began to lose patience. When I asked him why he was acting this way, he looked up at me with sweet green eyes and said,

It’s Over the Hump Day !

We got a pleasant surprise yesterday. The sun came out and it actually got up to 70 degrees outside. What a blessing ! I was able to go outside in my shirtsleeves without a coat or sweater. I started the morning with both, but by noon I didn’t need either of them.

Today we should be in the mid 60’s but will have rain , not sunshine. I’m just so thankful that we got the one day with sun and warmth.

Have a great day all ! Another wonderful one on the Way !

Please pray for God's protection of our troops and HIS wisdom for their commanders.

 Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

A man was going down a street when in a store window he saw a very beautiful picture of the crucifixion. As he gazed spellbound at the vividly pictured story, he suddenly became conscious that at his side stood a young boy.

The boy, too, was gazing at the picture, and his tense expression made the man know that "The Crucifixion" had really gripped the eager little soul. Touching the boy on the shoulder, the man said, "Sonny, what does it mean?"

"Doncha know?" he answered, his face full of the marvel of the man's ignorance. "That there man is Jesus, an' them others is Roman soldiers, an' the woman what's cryin' is His mother, an'" he added, "they killed 'im!"

The man did not want to move from in front of that impressive piece of artwork but he had other things he had to do, so he turned and walked away.

In a few moments he heard footsteps on the street behind him, and there came rushing up the boy.

 "Say, mister," he exclaimed breathlessly,

"I forgot to tell you, but He rose again!"

Doesn’t it seem that there’s always work to do and no time for rest? Answer the following questions as honestly as you can to determine if you need to rest: Do I feel stressed when functioning in my normal day-to-day activities? Is it difficult to find joy? Do I get the kind of rest my body needs? Do I wake up tired?

In creation, God established a pattern of work and rest, which is a model for believers. For 6 days God worked to bring order to our world. But on the seventh day, after He had finished all His creative activity, He rested.

God demonstrated that rest is appropriate and right. If the Lord rested from the work of creation and from His earthly ministry, we need to rest from our work as well. Our times of rest refresh us for times of service

All work and no play will take the joy of life away.
