This evening I’m going out for dinner with my ‘old camping buddy’. She called and asked me to join her for Taco Salad. I haven’t had that in ages and it sure sounds good.

Another short week for me. I’m off Friday and headed to DS#!’s for the Easter weekend. This week will go by fast because we are busy at work now and there is lots to do. That always makes the days go by quicker.

I did manage to finish painting my Easter Eggs for the grandbabes on Sunday afternoon. Now I just need to get everything packaged up so I can put them in the mail.

Lots of family birthdays coming up too ! GD#1 is on the 12th and DS#2 is on the 15th this week.

We had a lovely Easter celebration yesterday and even though it was very cold, the sun was shinning and the little ones were able to have an Easter egg hunt in the backyard. Today is our family Easter celebration. Yes, I do realize that Easter is next weekend, but I always have our family get together one week early so that the babes can all go to visit their ‘other side’ of the family too. My daughter used to try and enjoy two big dinners in one day and that’s not much fun. Sooooo today we’ll be celebrating Easter.

Not everyone in my family is able to come because of either being too far away or because they have to work etc. but those of us here will have a good time and we’ll also be praying for those that can’t be here.

The two thousand member church was filled to overflowing capacity one Sunday morning. The preacher was ready to start the sermon when two men, dressed in long black coats and black hats entered thru the rear of the church.

One of the two men walked to the middle of the church while the other stayed at the back of the church. They both then reached under their coats and withdrew automatic weapons. The one in the middle announced, "Everyone willing to take a bullet for Jesus stay in your seats!"

Naturally, the pews emptied, followed by the choir. The deacons ran out the door, followed by the choir director and the assistant pastor. After a few moments, there were about twenty people left sitting in the church. The preacher was holding steady in the pulpit.

The men put their weapons away and said, gently, to the preacher, "All right, pastor, the hypocrites are gone now. You may begin the service."

Today is a vacation day from work, but I’ll be doing lots here at home. The weather finally warmed up a bit yesterday and we made it to the high 50’s. Today we may get some rain.

I have a few bare spots in the grass in the backyard so I put some lawn patch down and it needs a good soaking so the grass will grow.

This evening I’ll be going over to have dinner with my sisters and my Dad. There is a little restaurant near to where he lives that has very good perch dinners so I’ll be picking them up to take over .

This is the last day of my work week. I hope I get everything done at work so I can enjoy my long weekend. It’s getting very busy at work and I’m 2 pages behind right now.

Friday I’ll be doing a little house blessing and getting some Easter Baskets ready for the Babes, I hope to package up some things to get in the mail for my family out of state too!

After that I’m getting together with my Sisters and Dad for dinner.

Saturday is our family Easter celebration and I’m hoping the weather will be good for the Easter egg hunt for the little ones.

TODAY IS...FRESH TOMATO DAY

Tomatoes were grown by the Aztecs and Incas as early as 700 A.D. Seeds were taken back to Europe by explorers in the 1500's. They were called “Love Apples” in France, but were ignored in England as a food (they thought tomatoes were poisonous). Early colonists in the U.S. had the same idea. In 1812, Creoles in New Orleans started making tomato-based gumbos. By 1850, the tomato was being planted in home gardens all over America.

TOMATO CASSEROLE

 2-3 lbs fresh tomatoes (5 or 6)

1 lb polish sausage (or 8 hot dogs), sliced

1 onion, chopped

1 green pepper, chopped

1 cup grated cheese

1 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt

 1/4 teaspoon pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1. Preheat over to 350 degrees F 2. Mix the flour, salt, pepper and garlic powder in a bowl. Cut the tomatoes into wedges or slices and dredge through the flour mixture. TIP: Just dredge the tomato in flour as you made the layers below. 3. In a casserole dish, make layers of tomato, sausage, onion, green pepper, and cheese. Repeat layers once more and top with a layer of tomatoes. 4. Bake at 350 degress for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

After work yesterday I got my hair cut and permed. Once again I have a curly head of hair. The perm seems to help tame the unruly gray hair. Tonight is my prayer group at the Wellspring. As always, I’ll be praying for all of you !

Friday I have a vacation day and will be getting ready for our family Easter celebration on Saturday. It seems like a very fast week!

Maybe a big fashion trend, but sailors discovered them first - because they were so practical. Bell bottom pants were easy to roll up and keep dry when swabbing the deck on the ships. They were also fast and easy to pull off if you fell overboard and needed to swim. It is sad to see how people who are one day cheering for you can later be jeering at you. Jesus went through the worst of ridicule and torture. He understands whatever agony we may suffer.

 If you give up, when others make fun of you or criticize you, your life will go downhill. But if you trust in the Lord, knowing that he understands and supports you, you can conquer the problem and be a winner instead of a loser.
